I think I started with batch and than VBScript, but it was so limited (never got deep into VBScript) but after that I learned VB.NET than HTML and python (never finished python) and now we are learning JavaScript on school.

Some other random languages like xml and so, but I didn't fully learn those.

(Yes, I know, HTML and XML are not programming languages but markup languages. I just wanted to include them.)

I just wanted to learn how to make something on the computer without using an editor, and websites were the first thing to come to mind. The knowledge it gave me has landed me two jobs already developing websites for the technologically impaired.

Nice, that's awesome. Like small businesses or individuals or what?

Well, the fact that I know how to install Wordpress got me a summer job setting up the site for a non-profit organization. At the job I work currently, I overheard talk of hiring out to find a web developer to make them a website, so I created a mockup for them to look at and they hired me on the spot.

I'm not professional by any means, but I find it fun to dabble in layouts/color schemes/CSS animation. Still working on the site for my job.

Basic HTML and CSS was what we learnt back in middle school. Programming was completely new from what we had studied earlier.

I have a group of friends who are part of my school's newly founded Code Club, and I our teacher is wanting us to do HTML and JS, and um...I don't really like Js, anyways. What do you think I should recommend to them to study on their time. I said to begin, Python, after that, Java or C++.

What do you think I should say.

(I know its off topic, kill me)

I don't understand your logic. You said you learned basic HTML. He told you HTML is not a programming language... and some how you think the qualifier "basic" changes this? "basic" HTML is still HTML and not a programming language...

I think he was referring to BASIC, HTML, and the other thing he said. BASIC being something in itself and he was just to lazy to throw in a comma

Then he needs to learn2grammar because if thats what he meant, then thats not what he said. In fact it changed the entire meaning of the sentence.
