Indeed, they use Hanwei as their primsry supplier for katanas and such for the general public whilst still maintaining their own custom made katanas that usually cost between $3700 and $10,000 for the higher end katanas. As a weapon, since very few of us use swords in actual combat, and since modern swords are usually made with higher quality steel, it really doesn't matter but katanas are still used by many.
