As somebody who enjoys the art of so called "Social Engineering" (I would still rather call it BS'ing people), you cant find a target without having some interest in what you want. So my recommendation to you is this. 1.) First do not try this to get stuff for free. There is a difference between Social Engineering and trying to be a thief. Social Engineering is about getting information, not about trying to save 40 dollars by telling Otterbox to send you one for free because you have a nonexistent defective one. 2.) Find something you like or want that isnt publicly known. For example, If you want to know what is the latest Apple product in development. Now you have to find people who are involved with that, Map out their network, See which one is most likely to talk, Come up with an Alias, and go after it. 3.) The logic behind Social Engineering is this; You dont have to jump a fence past Guards and dogs to some Classifed facility to get information. People come and go from that facility freely and take their secrets with them in their head. So the art of SE is to Realize that it is completely about trying to get these people to talk. Because thats the biggest weakness in any organization, the human element. 4.) But my first, second, and third rule is simple: Be Nice. The nicer you are to these people, the more you are their friend, the more likely they are to talk. You dont have to waterboard them or blackmail them. You just go to them and be what they want you to be. Social skills is the most crucial element and Being Nice is what makes the difference. There have been people in the past replacing the bar codes of products to get massive discounts ^^ May be worth a try ![]() OP; there are two things I can tell you right now. If you're looking for actual training in Social Engineering, do a psychology course and work hands on with small companies. If what your heart covets is just easy companies to do, most of the P&G companies are known to be standard 'beginner' ones ^^ When you've gotten a bit more skilled with your Social Engineering, and are looking for new companies to do; simply do a Google search for "<product> manufacturers" or "[...]retailers"; and choose one that appeals to you. A good rule of thumb is to go for companies that are not too large, but not small enough for you to put them in bankruptcy with your SE . IF you've never heard of the company, you're probably fine, though ^^Add me on Skype if you need anything else
