RE: Async sockets recv - ArkPhaze - 01-25-2014 Asynchronous sockets are a chore, so don't expect this to be easy. You'll need to fire a callback event when the condition is right however, but the idea is to stay away from the UI thread as much as possible. Just remember that the callback is a method to be invoked concurrently from different threads, so you'll have to set up access to this method properly depending on how you have your application design structured. This is a cool link IMO: http://www.nightmare.com/medusa/async_sockets.html And a good bit of information that I can agree with is provided here: http://blog.think-async.com/ (worthy first read) If you don't want to deal with the chaos, then maybe you'll decide to go with a library instead to which suits your needs. RE: Async sockets recv - addicted2you - 01-25-2014 Okay, so can u tell me a library for that (also to be easy the file transfer with it, cuz I'm experiencing problems with the transfer also) ... Cuz everywhere on internet I read that Boost.Asio is the best, but is it ? Are there better libs for me ?
RE: Async sockets recv - ArkPhaze - 01-26-2014 BOOST Asio is probably one of the most notorious ones. BOOST has some good libraries for other things as well. Some are a bit bulky, but overall BOOST is a great library. |
