RE: Which programming language pays better ? - The Real Slim Shady - 12-30-2013 I think focusing on the "one" language is the wrong way to go. Employers want those with broader experience. The more languages you know at a higher level the greater your demand will be. I notice you left out any .NET languages. While i understand this, C# is quite a popular language in the industry. I've been looking for work for a while and most software development jobs list one key language but then suggest exposure/experience in 1, 2, or even 3 other languages and/or specific frameworks are either required or highly desirable. So i would suggest if you want to get into any type of development, you group your skills. If its web development then PHP/SQL/JavaScript but knowledge of Ruby and Perl will likely get you access to niche work. If you want to get into software development than I would focus on C/C++ or C# depending on platform, as well as Java. You could probably get just about any job with this skillset however again, knowledge of languages like haskell, lisp, or even python and perl open up jobs where employers also have software or need of people with such knowledge. RE: Which programming language pays better ? - shirofuji - 12-30-2013 In my experience as a commercial programmer. a lot of people wants to get websites either for personal or business purposes so i believe its php. in addition to that, as a hacker a lot of vulnerabilities are in websites. so knowing php is a good asset for remote code execution on servers running php RE: Which programming language pays better ? - hellomen - 01-04-2014 Coding for money? RE: Which programming language pays better ? - ART33R - 01-04-2014 PHP ofcourse,Within Web Developing is enough JavaScript and PHP. PHP has a decent market value and a fine language for those who will interested in Web Developing, There are many people who are looking for PHP experts who can fix vulnerabilities and Buggs, and looking for people who can dynamic pages with PHP, If you PHP, it will pay off in the future, otherwise when it comes to apps and games as Java and C + + the two programming. Many play and programms like Minecraft , languages that bring the most money. Almost every game on PS3 are either programmed in C / C + + or Assembly. RE: Which programming language pays better ? - jimpie - 01-05-2014 i would say java RE: Which programming language pays better ? - DaPaus - 01-06-2014 In Belgium most vacatures are for VB.NET. But I see that Java is getting quite popular (Mostly because Android is getting popular). But globaly I would say PHP for web development and Java/C++ for Computer Programming RE: Which programming language pays better ? - upsurt - 01-10-2014 In my region C++, C#, Python and Ruby skills are highly requested. Nobody cares about VB.Net - since there is C# VB.Net is used only by hobbyists, but not for serious projects. Java is bad paid, because there are too many devs avaible. Every studend knows Java, so you can keep the salary low. PHP is als requested, but nowadays everbody knows PHP and calls him self web dev. So the salary is also not that high. Cobol is well paid, because the old devs are retired. So there are too few people around to manage the old code on the mainframes. SAP is very well paid. Nobody can know a language 100%. Its impossible.Even Chuck Norris cant. So,the guys who say "i know 1.2.3... Languages" ,they just lie or they say it knowingly. You can know a language, in A GOOD Level. Not 100%. RE: Which programming language pays better ? - Ex094 - 02-13-2014 For me it's PHP and C++/C. You can do Web Design as your part time job i.e. a way for extra money besides your Job |
