Its the admin password for the account. So pretty much the account password. As mentioned if not i apologize. Ive extracted sam and system files and am usibg cain right now. Use ophcrack and it didnt gind any responses from xp special and vista special. Dictionary cracking now. But those will take a while

Well, in his last post it looks to me like he has clarified that it is the Windows Admin password.
And lol... I always find it funny when people say theyve lost or forgotten their password. It never makes sense. like windows doesnt force complicated passwords... and most people only use a couple different passwords, if that. How do you get to the point that you dont have any idea what your password is that you resort to a dictionary attack. I tend to believe those requests are bullshit.
Not to mention that finding out the password is not the only way to gain access to the files and/or the account. There are lots of other tools and manual methods for enabling/resetting/etc the administrator account.

Well. All suspicion aside. I dont need the files lol and pretty much was looking for password but am now going to jyst use dban and wipe the sdd. Im not worryin about data. But cant find proper way of wiping and preparing it for new OS. anysuggestion other than dban. I cant find wipe options in bios
