I use Freenet on daily basis, basically, when I go on-line I start it so it can start connecting to people, after about 2 hours when I get bored on surface net I start browsing Freenet Smile you can find really interesting things there. The danger of getting on an illegal site is high, but if you read closely the description of the site, you can avoid them. I suggest you to be very careful in deep web as it can be very harmful when used incorrectly.

You seem pretty happy with Freenet. What would you suggest to a long time Tor user like myself in order to convince them into trying out Freenet? I've always been satisfied with Tor but perhaps Freenet has other advantages that I'm not aware of?

Freenet is a LOT faster than Tor (assuming you give Freenet time to connect to nodes). It is also a lot more secure as you can apply a setting, where Freenet will connect only to people you know (so called darknet mode, which is almost impossible to detect). Last but not least, Freesites can be created with just a click. No hosting needed etc.

Myself and another person were trying to add each other on Freenet but without luck.. All we got was "Can't parse"

Yeh that happens when there is an extra character somewhere. Make sure you post exactly what you are given and be careful, some message systems add some extra invisible characters (MyBB does that a lot). Best way to exchange this information is to either create a txt file and send the file, or I've had success with pastebin Smile

I'll be making a system on my forum (web.1llusion.info), where you can exchange keys and noderefs easily Smile

Right, I saw the darknet mode. It's not too appealing to me though considering you actually need friends in the first place. Tongue

But if you say it's quite faster than Tor, then I suppose it's off to https://freenetproject.org I go. Speed would definitely be a good reason to give it a shot.

RE: Tor and Freenet - Sch4z0 - 07-28-2020

TOR offers good anonymity but most of the sites are scam though hitman and other shits

RE: Tor and Freenet - DedSpace - 07-31-2020

I use tor, freenet, i2p, and zeronet. Not as often as I used to, but I still like to have a look around. There are as many legit services as there are illegitimate ones - a site about growing tomatoes on freenet for example. Absolute madness.

RE: Tor and Freenet - Crazymb - 08-02-2020

I haven;t used any of them, I believe Tor is more popular
