I've got a Dual 4k Monitor setup right now, it's worth the money. Just, make sure you have a good enough computer to run things at 4k.

4K Displays are more common as they are getting more support but 5K Displays are the new extreme!

As nice as 4k is, I just don't think the hardware is quite there yet. I mean, you can still get decent framerates with some decent cards, and if you can handle being under 60FPS sometimes then a 4k upgrade may be worth it, but if you want to run everything at 4k60FPS, I'd say wait on it at least a little.

I personally think all of this "Ultra HD 4k" stuff is pointless, the more and more HD the more it gets harder on the eyes.
My TV is a Toshiba 29L1350U 29-Inch 720p 60Hz LED HDTV running about 36 watt. I find it to be clear enough, fair enough size and just right for me.
Hell I didn't get that TV til probably early 2013 before that I had an old TV probably from 1995.

I had a 2K monitor. Personally thought it was dumb. I returned it within 24 hours. Didn't enjoy it.

IMO a 4K monitor won't be of much use unless you're one of those people who want to watch movies on their comp, or you wanna see amazing graphics. Otherwise, you may as well wait for the price to drop first, as the others have said.

I watch movies just fine in HD on my old 2007 (could be 2008) Toshiba laptop with Nvidia GeForce graphics. 17" screen and it plays videos perfect to my liking.

I mean, if you are really wanting to see great quality stuff. Some people prefer that.
