RE: Should we ban alcohol? - Fallen - 01-28-2014 There are definitely reasons to, and a reason not to. The reason not to, however, leads to many other branches of defiance when it comes to actually banning the product. RE: Should we ban alcohol? - Exotic - 02-08-2014 I have a strong stance on whether or not to allow our government determine what we can do to our own body. I think it all should be allowed and legal. I think we're mature enough to make our own choices. If heroin were legalized, how many of you would actually go out and do heroin? Very few. That's just because of our common sense and own knowledge. The people that don't drink now, will not drink if it were illegal or legal. The people that do drugs now, will be doing drugs if it's legal or illegal. Nothing changes, the only thing that changes is what the government spends from our tax dollars to enforce these idiotic laws. RE: Should we ban alcohol? - Illuminati - 02-09-2014 The U.S. already tried it, it really didn't do anything. Hell, even U.S. cops, who should have enforced the Prohibition were involved in drinking. Banning alcohol wouldn't do much, as people would get it anyways. It can be a nice thing every now and then, or it can ruin your life if you drink it constantly. I'd say that no, it shouldn't be banned as banning it wouldn't do anything at all, except make most people upset. RE: Should we ban alcohol? - dopest - 02-09-2014 I'm iffy on whether or not it should be banned. It has it's fair amount of cons for sure. Some could include the deaths or danger of safety to others while one is drinking and driving. People act irrationally, for instance, when one of my family members was drunk he ended up stabbing someone in the back with a tiki torch a fair amount of times.. Danger due to fights, possibly leading to severe injuries or even death. Making it illegal, as Emerald said, "Even if it were banned, it would become the most smuggled and self-produced drugs. Realistically it would make it more dangerous if anything. Imagine all of the people who would try to brew it themselves and potentially cause it to be toxic.". It'd be pointless to make it illegal, it'd just become even more of a problem in my opinion. Though alcohol has it's many negatives and few positives, if any, I feel that it should stay legal. Alcoholic beverages aren't usually available to minors, I'm not saying that's 100% the case. But 21 is when the woman/man has been an adult for a few years and should be able to drink in moderation, if at all. My father drinks, but he's more of a happy drunk. But he'll grab a fair amount of beer every few months or so and just drink one or two a day. It's all about being smart with it, though many people aren't.. |
