I appreciate that. We are working to get emails out. I am assuming that's how you found us again. Doing it based on upgrades/post count first.
The domain situation could change as well, but be sure to spread the word.

Here's a basic timeline:
- 2012 - I started the forum.
- 2024/2025 - I sold the forum to NekoElf. The domain was suspended within a year and the site went offline.
- August 2026 - I reacquired the domain via auction, after it became available again.
- September 2026 - Domain was suspended again, but is being kept online under .LI.
To answer your question, there was roughly 1 year of downtime after the domain was suspended under NekoElf. I have kept the site online since I obtained the domain last month. However, the .LY domain is currently suspended. It is my opinion that the registrar's policy and enforcement have changed heavily over the past 2-3 years. I am appealing the decision and asking for more information, as we did not have these issues prior to 2025.

In the online world that's forever. Definitely not abiding the 4 9s. What if there was a mission critical service running on that domain? It's a catch-22 as well. Don't do the thing, but we wont tell you what that thing is.

We're still appealing...
While recovery is totally possible, I need to emphasize that the forum is probably going to have to compromise in some form. Whether people prefer looser content restrictions or the cosmetic .LY TLD needs to be discussed. The forum exists because of our members and their contributions, not what some 3rd world registrar allows. Likewise, it's not 2015 and we cannot allow everything. All about balance.
I'll try to give everyone a chance to give input, if people still want to stick around.

I don't know what you mean by "general use", but what they allow has changed significantly over the past 1-2 years. We had no suspensions across 2012-2024. Why that changed, I cannot say. But people are going to need to decide whether .LY matters more than freedom of content. Obviously I'll do what I can to get the domain re-activated, but I am not entirely convinced sticking with .LY overlaps with what the forum really wants.

IMO, I think its better to know what kind of content is restricted first. The sinister.ly name is too cool. š
That would require a response, but their restrictions could be as tight as limiting NSFW and "Hacking" content. Which people may not want. The domain is nice, but it's not that nice.
I'm talking to older members and I'm very much in line with doing what's best for the forum. We can always buy a nicer domain later, but I want to make sure we stay online.
