It's not exactly a subtle method...
You can get the driver fucked, the driver can get you fucked, it often requires some PR, as it's automatically filed as theft.
No need to mention why overdoing it from your home would exacerbate all these downsides.

Ideally, each & every claim should be seemingly unique when reviewed by external observers, i.e. no data linking to you ever gets cross-checked.
On the topic of carriers, surely the odds of getting caught increase if you keep hitting too similarly.

If the situation allows, I'd rather claim damaged items, MEB, PEB, WIR...
Any method that suggests some careless mistake might have happened, not actual crime.
