FTID Sony worked for me.
Had an SN for a PS5 and then requested a repair.

Are they requesting a photo of the SN or just the SN ? Do you need a POP ?

every company have so many policies regarding "if items didn't manage to reach their warehouse" most of them almost end up refunding the customer but if they sense a manipulation/fraud attempt they immediately request the item back ... there is nothing called "ITS ALMOST DEAD" when such methods as "FTID" "SB" played in a respected performance

"instant scans" where you allegedly return an empty box as if it was the item thus upon scanning your return , your refunded the moment the scan took place correct ?

No nothing. I simply requested a repair and specified the SN. Maybe I was just lucky
