I thought about reporting the package as incorrect delivery as the police maybe would do less about it then?

You didn't receive the package and given police provide reports for theft-related Incidents, choose that option - theft.

Do you have any tips on what to write back to amazon?
Since they're claiming that they can't do anything before the whole police case is closed and done. I can't wait untill the whole police case is closed as this can take months if not a year.

No chance of It taking an entire year and given the circumstances of the claim, I doubt It will go on for months.
