I also contacted chat from another location using VPN, the computer is linked to my amazon account but I dont think they can detect this.
If your account has been flagged, you'd know about It through an OFM email.

They act normal at first, then say they are going to look into it, and as soon as they check the file or whatever they act like dicks and have 0 leniency or ability to refund without police report. I don't know what info they are getting or have that is causing this, they usually are much nicer on a clean account with prime membership.
Just remember that you're dealing with representatives who struggle to spell their own name.

Amazon has become one of the worst customer service entity In the eCommerce sector.

Please keep us updated.

Yeah it used to be hit or miss now it's just completely dogshit, after this I'm done with amazon SE.

What do you mean OFM email? Is that just an official amazon email?

I had it drag out almost a month when I did wrong item method. After getting confirmation of refund you have to keep calling back before they refund, at one point they asked to send the item in when it was already sent and the refund was confirmed. They are just trained to be policy dummies, when all you can do is refer to policy and not display human communication skills you get tarded up real quick.
Its over for amazon and any other big tech monopoly.

There is bound to be some kind of soft flagging system that does not alert the user.

Correct - stating (for example) that they've received a high volume of refunds/returns.

It supposed to be a 2 week training period, but the majority of reps are not even trained - just thrown Into their CS roles.

PR has been submitted and approved. Email has been sent to amazon.
Checked in with chat to make sure they received and they confirmed.

Apparently the report is still in "investigation" phase and i have to wait 3-5 days for it be completed so they can verify again.
I dont know what the investigation will consist of, probably more bs paperwork.

As least some progress is being made.

The credentials of your online account, must match those that're provided at the time of filing the PR.

Dosent metter , i have a police friend when i did a police report a long time ago and was a random name , my friend that work at police told me that i can have any name on my amazon or whatever site account , dosent metter i can even have anonymous in name , the PR will still be valid.

It's not the point.

The PR will be valid, but Amazon will not accept a report listed under one name, and the online account under another. It's purely common sense that It's not the same person who filed the report and created the Amazon account.

Yeah, its not worth the risk. On amazons email it also says the name of the report has to match the account name.
Hopefully there will be no followup calls or visits from police.

The only worry I have is the package weight discrepancy. I hope the earbuds with the packaging wont tip off the scales too much. In the email amazon said they confirmed the correct delivery weight but they said that right away, there was no time for them to do a real investigation.

^ Yes, that's precisely my point.

Very unlikely for mediocre claims that have not raised suspicion to warrant police Interaction.

The earbuds per se will not register a weight, so they're not being truthful In their reply.

RE: Amazon Missing Item Suspicion - Quitelargegenitalman - 03-05-2023

Just got a confirmation email and the refund has been processed.
Surprised it came in that quick after the whole PR thing, I thought this would drag on for a bit.

Email was odd because it was addressed as a defective item refund stating to keep or disregard the item without returning,

Nonetheless a successful SE

same thought ... i also believe that if the account is in an-actual good standing its being redirected to a certain/separate communication department which contains a nicer professional representatives upon calling or even chatting to make lives go easier and claims forwarded/solved faster with people who may have legit problems .

you did receive the refund message in a sudden before going to the police department when you decided to make the PR that was requested ?
