You know what to say - upon opening the box, the CPU was missing.

Don't go Into further detail, there's no reason to.
Thanks

But what if the CPU is visible from outside the box? EX: A ryzen CPU? (From amazon)

I SE'd one once, swaped it for an old rusty intel cpu, it was sticking out of the squared window. i claimed that i received a wrong item or "alternative model" in the description box when creating the return label at amazon and it was sucessful.

I've previously SEd a Ryzen CPU from Amazon that was externally visible. To my knowledge, they don't have CCTV cameras in their warehouses therefore they can't prove that the CPU was enclosed in the packaging regardless of whether it's externally visible or not.

Never contacted the CSR chat, i returned it directly to amazon, same happened with the x570-i motherboard and some other pc parts. just selaed them with an old item inside or garbage.

Got It.

I wasn't aware of the strategy you used.
Well done.
