They're simply trying to assess the circumstances of the delivery - which does In fact also happen with legit claims.

Of course you‘re right. Sadly I have 2 inner conflicts. One is that my sister received the boxes and I don‘t want her to know what I‘m doing. So if she gets asked she might say „yes I received/took them“. I don‘t want to brief her to lie because I don‘t want to open up the topic. On the day of the delivery I was waiting a lot, bit I had important things to do and then missed the delivery by 20 minutes…
Secondly I don‘t want the driver/postman to get problems and accused that he stole it. It kinda makes me feel bad …

I kind of wonder how suspicious DHL would be against me vs. the driver. Because during xmas there‘s so many parcels to be delivered and I bet there‘s many complaints or even claims. This order is around 4.5k so I guess it‘s expensive enough to think I am trying to scam them but not too expensive to raise too much attention or suspicion I guess.
Does someone know whether Apple handles all the refunds themselves or if they use a 3rd party company like DHL or so? I am in Germany.
What do you guys think is my chance performing a FTID for both devices?
I guess if I go for DNA I can also always say that my wife accidentally wrapped them in xmas paper or so and I didn‘t know right? I would have time until it‘s too late to send it back. But only 1 week or so left to do so.

Hey everyone.
Do you think it‘s better to just ask where my order is, that I still didn‘t receive it and „play stupid“? Or should I mention the delivery status and that I noticed it said delivered, bit I couldn‘t call them during the christmas days?
Should I say I still want them or that I alteady bought something else as a present?

I called apple today and told them that I am still waiting for my order. The support guy told me it was delivered in 2 boxes on Dec 20th, I said that can‘t be true because I didn‘t received them. He said that DHL states the existence of a signature and he read out my last name. (Maybe my sister signed but maybe not, idk) I told him how that is possible. He read it out again and I said „Well that‘s my last name but I didn‘t sign.“
He was very friendly and hopefully/probably not suspicious at all. He told me that he would open a case for me so there‘s gonna be an investigation to find out what happened.
I should receive an email in the next days asking for my ID or Driver‘s license to verify or falsify the signature DHL got. He told me that with orders below 90 bucks usually it just takes 2 days and very often DHL accepts the claim because it‘s not so expensive (I thought thx for the info my friend
).He also said that most likely they will contact the driver to talk to him and see if he has a camera in his delivery car to verify that he stopped at our house, that he might look for the person he gave it to or whatever.
I am a little worried and curious at the same time, but still able to chill, as I know I can always say „Ooops I found it“.
As I can‘t estimate my chances yet my plan is to stay persistent but if they push too hard and won‘t refund or send new ones I will send them back as usual on the last day where it‘s possible. This way I won‘t take a financial loss and won‘t have to fight for my money, as it might be a bit complicated because my sister accepted the delivery.
It was sent by DHL Express and their proof of delivery statement says „ An electronic signature has been captured but cannot be accessed at this time“.
