No need for bubble wrap, just add cardboard.

Given the disposed of the faulty Item method Is out of the question, boxing Is the only way to circumvent the return.

Is It a local (and not International/Interstate) delivery service?

It depends on transit and (If applicable) storage time.

RE: Dell XPS - mammta21 - 12-04-2022

@mothered Reading online seems like in the US products mailed in for servicing will be delivered within the national borders, most probably the nearest Dell repair center(n state or a nearby state). I am going to select the "Device won't turn on" issue, should be good, right? If going for this issue they say to include battery and charger and to write in the form to include in the box the serials of battery/charger, which  I don't have. For the location of the repair center, and so for the shipping time, I guess will know better after I get the return label(didn't request it yet cause want to first plan everything correctly). But assuming the repair center is nearby I'd assume 2 to 5 days?
Oh and I am also reading that the local dry ice store have pellets or blocks, I think the block should be a better option, isn't it? Minimum amount for purchase is 10 lbs.I don't know the weight of each block, but hopefully is 1 solid block of 10 pounds so that should give me time to put it in the box, weight it, seal it, drive to the courier store and ship it.
Here I attached the link to the instructions that they will provide on how to prepare the laptop in the box, should I include that bag and bubble wraps that will come with their box or just discard them and put the dry ice wrapped in more cardboard/boxes? And should I actually fill in the form and include it or just like the rest of the material just throw it out? OFC I am using a drop and fantasy name, but just curious if need to include the filled in form.

Sorry for the long post but I feel like I want to complete all the detailed puzzle of info before giving a try to this SE, as it will be my first one with boxing(dry ice).

RE: Dell XPS - Nabeshin - 12-06-2022

If it has advanced replacement, why would you worry about sending it back?
Just get the new one before sending in the old one (that you don't have) and make sure you use a drop + disposable VCC so you don't get rebilled

The thing is that I tried to search for the advanced replacement page/form of Dell but cannot find it. So I don't know if it qualifies for it

If you put service tag of the device on the del warranty page, you will see what kind of warranty you have. From my experience I know that you have to send back laptop to them. Advance replacement regards only monitors.

In brief, where does your claim currently stand?

I didn't start it yet. As you might already know with dell you can get the prepaid label without chat or email, just on the website. So like I said I want to get all the info needed clear before requesting the empty return box + prepaid label. So when I'll get it I'd be ready to buy dry ice and box them. Can you please help me with my previous questions? thanks a lot @mothered
