If you're referring to AirPods Pro, the EB/missing Item method has a very high success rate.

What about an electric scooter ?

Fail. Going to weigh significantly more then 120 grams

It depends on the type of verification on delivery.

Also, whether they're liable for lost shipments.

What does this mean ?
Order before 11pm Sunday to Friday. Orders placed on Saturday can be delivered by Monday. Delivery times are based on the assumption that all items ordered are in stock. Whilst we make every effort to deliver goods on the day we specify we cannot guarantee delivery on that day or accept any liability for out of pocket expenses, costs, losses or any other expenses due to failed or late delivery. These options are only available if you live in an area covered by our courier.

Anything that specifies responsibility/liability for lost shipments.

You can do a practice run/trial SE on a different account with a very cheap Item.

If there's no mention of releasing themselves from liability, then you can DNA them.
