They must have figured it out. If they keep pushing, just pay it. I would avoid most tech retailers in Europe.

they have been trying to contact me for the past few months in regards to claiming i owe them money because the parcel i returned didnt include the watch It makes no sense at all.
They've refunded you due to a missing watch, yet they're stating you didn't return the watch with the package/box. Surely they can't be serious. Anyone with logic, common sense and half a brain would see this as complete nonsense, because that's precisely what It Is.
Ask them to thoroughly explain themselves.

You don't have the full amount - they've refunded the missing watch.
This is precisely my point, it sounds like they have lost the absolute plot.

I shouldnt have to pay it though especially if its been a few months and what if I genuinely didnt have the watch?

@Mobdeep. Yeah the company is being really stupid and clearly incapable of handling your claim. I would ask to speak to a senior rep and really stress that you did not recieve your watch so how can, and that how can you pay for a watch you didn't get.

So ive just called the number on the email, the lady claims that the chargeback was issued because the parcel was returned empty, but i had already explained to them that contents were missing when i originally received the parcel, hence why they offered me a refund to return what i had.
Anyway, she couldnt help me as the matter was raised by the “back office” and i am not allowed to have direct contact with them. Instead they are going to contact me in 24/48 hours with “proof” to show why the charge was raised. Dont know what “proof” they have as i did not link any names/devices etc… i am not new to SE’ing at all and this is actually the first time ive come to see backlash from any of this stuff. I really want to avoid paying them their money back. It just absolutely baffles me what proof they must have. Its either gonna leave me with a shocked face or laughing my ass off.
She was adamant also that she had no information to give me regarding the case.
I also refuse to believe that a heavy indian accented lady at the customer service team of currys is called chloe, lol.

This sounds like a half arsed attempt to call you out on something they have ZERO evidence on. Continue to fight this.

If they have nothing to hide, they have everything to show, so where's the evidence In support of their claim?
RE: Currys empty box method repercussion - BetterThings2 - 08-19-2022
@Mobdeep. Keep your head up, I believe the claim will settle in your favor. Because as everyone else has said, if they really had solid evidence they would not hesitate to show/tell you, but they can't and are hoping you cave in and pay. I'm rooting for you!
