Tell the police you need the PR so you can settle things with Apple itself, it costs them nothing to write down some text and sign it, and they have no reason to refuse since you, as a citizen, are at a loss and need their help to get out of this

Does this involve actually going to a police station? Or can I not email them and ask?

Depends on the country, but I'm quite sure you'll have to go there and sign it yourself

Depends on the country, but I'm quite sure you'll have to go there and sign it yourself
What is the point of going through this. This isn’t worth this amount of effort. There many other methods to do that are way easier than this.

I’ve sent a reply beforehand stating I’m unable to obtain a hard copy. If they request it again I’ll bring it up.

This is their response:
“In order to proceed with the investigation and conclude it as soon as possible we need a hard copy of Police report duly signed and stamped.”

So I should say that the police is unable to provide a copy?
