I cannot see the CPU weighing more than 85 grams.

As such, It's fine to send the box without adding a weight substitute.

Will hopefully get the opportunity to box if the SE goes well. Will keep you updated.
Intel has always been quite a bitch to SE. But they are doable, if this fails. I suggest you look to doing AMD Threadrippers next, much more profitable and manageable.

Yeah, struggling with the part where they require an incredibly close up picture of the CPU with the QR code visible.

Think I have changed my idea from trying to s/n them and simply just buy the CPU I want and say it wasn't in packaging.

I want one of the latest i9's which are fully enclosed so it's doable.

If a picture is all they require, just go to Craigslist and or Ebay and ask. Shouldn't be any problem

The QR code on the CPU identifies the unique CPU doesnt it? As such it would have to be the CPU of the s/n I have requested service from, from what I understand, but I could be wrong.

Hmm, that is likely the situation. Your best option would be to get a CPU with that QR, scan it and see if it spits out a serial number. If it does, good because you can then make a custom QR Code and Photoshop it into that picture. But otherwise, redo the SE and get a matching QR and SN.

RE: Intel CPU SE - Specialbrewmike - 06-04-2022

Ive done the same today for an intel i9 9900k and an Amd Ryzen 9 5900x both with serials from ebay let's see If I can get atleast one of them

Unless you have very close up pictures of your Intel CPU, you will likely fail as I did, I was not able to get the close up pictures they require you to have.

As for AMD, they required that I ship the CPU back with DHL. I am in the UK so it might be different where you are based but when DHL receive the parcel in the warehouse, the package gets inspected before it gets sent off and the SE failed at that point and I just decided to move on and attempt at a later date with a different method.

Can the CPU be viewed externally without opening the box?

RE: Intel CPU SE - Specialbrewmike - 06-08-2022

I am in the UK also i missed my reply from itel but got it today there asking:

When was the processor purchased?
Have you made any hardware changes recently or software updates (including BIOS update)?
Was the issue always present or did it just occur recently?
Was the CPU overclocked?
Have you used any XMP profile?
Did the CPU used to work with the configuration you are using?

Please describe in great detail, the tests that you have performed and what components we're used during testing.

Please confirm:

The BIOS version on all motherboards used for testing are fully compatible with the processor number and its spec code.
All the other essential components (motherboard, power supply, memory, and video card—if applicable) have been individually tested and confirmed to be operational except the processor.
All other components we're checked to be compatible with the processor.

In case we haven't heard from you, we will follow up on this case in a few business days.

Thank you for your understanding and if you have any questions please do not hesitate to contact us.
