You can box them.

AirPods are light enough to send the box on Its own, without the need to add dry Ice or otherwise.

AirPods are light enough to send the box on Its own, without the need to add dry Ice or otherwise.
so I just call amazon and tell them there was no AirPods inside the box? And then if they ask me to return it I just return the empty box?

No.

Tell them the AirPods are not working and when they request the return, use the boxing method by sending the empty box and making It look as though It was tampered with In transit. If you're not sure how the method Is used, refer to my blog - I've written an In depth article.

No.

With Items extremely light that do not require the use of dry Ice, It's almost on par with the EB/missing Item method.

Ok so this is what I have to do
Once I receive them, I call amazon and tell them the AirPods are faulty, then re-package the parcel - making it look tampered with and send it back to amazon with the empty AirPods box

one more question - once Amazon receives the parcel, won’t they suspect as to why there’s no AirPods inside the box? Does this mean theyll call me and ask questions?

In the blog it says “To do that, cut It on one side and seal It with different colored tape, so when the company receives It, they'll think that your Item was stolen at some point from when you sent It, prior to when they received It.“ would I cut the AirPods box or the amazon box?

Open the AirPods box just enough to demonstrate the goods were taken, and cut the Amazon box and seal It with different colored tape.
