Congrats on the successful SE! How much was that macbook? I was planning on using that same method on a laptop. Was the laptop you sent back a MacBook (pro) as well, or just random windows laptop?

Seems like amazon.ca is a bit easier to SE than other regions. I've been reading a lot of issues with our European members.

Congrats on the refund.

Fingers crossed It doesn't come back to bite you. Amazon have a reputation of reversing transactions after they've realized an old/used product was returned.

First things first congratulations on your successful SE.

I'd contact my bank and change my card. An useless defense mechanism since merchants like Amazon can do a forced offline transaction charge, but just to err on the side of caution.
As mothered said, Amazon has quite the reputation to come back and bite you after few months when using "wrong item" method.

Best of luck to you.
