A quick update on my SE.

The package was opened and I was contacted by Amazon that they do not give refunds on this.

I think now I should stubbornly claim that I have never opened the package and sent directly back, right?

Tell them you've returned what they originally sent you.

After a long back and forth with Amazon I finally got my money back.

I think I was too friendly at the beginning and have not complained enough Biggrin.
The first three times I wrote to support, I was told to wait 5 - 7 days.

When I wrote to the support the fourth time and they told me again to wait, I lost my patience and asked for my money back immediately.
All of a sudden I didn't have to wait anymore and the refund was processed.

Even though I did not believe in the meantime, because I also got the mail that my package was opened and I do not get a refund.

I have tried it further until it worked

Congrats! I guess you sticked to the story that the package you sent back was in the shape you got, right?

It seems like the sealed-box method always has a good chance to success. Even if the company/carriers check's the box (like in your case), you can always says you've returned what you've got. Maybe that's why it is @motherred's favourite Wink

It's hilarious how many people give up, when really they're 1 rep, or 1 further complaint away from getting their refund.
Nothing beats finally receiving your refund, especially after a long wait. It's almost euphoric.
