Stay away from Argos, John Lewis, ASOS, My Very, Ebuyer and Selfridges- all of which have CCTV cameras In place and go through every claim with a fine-tooth comb. As for the Items, begin with anything of low value and select a method that you're comfortable and most Importantly, most confident with.
When you've yet to SE a given company, the process Is: "Research > compatible Item selection & method formulation > effective attack vector execution". There's a lot more Involved, but It's way beyond the scope of this post to cover the lot. I've written In depth guides on my blog that details everything you need to know from a beginner/Intermediate standpoint.
