I would recommend a distro like Pop OS, which has a rolling release and it has a really easy to use GNOME DE, which i would recommend for new linux users. Another pro for the Pop os is that you can download the drivers preloaded (if you have a nvidia video card) it makes the setup progress easy. Overall it has little to no bloat on the install, which makes it a clean distro. It's based on Ubuntu which is a deriviative of debian, so you can almost run anything you want on it.

When it comes to running games, your distrobution doesn't matter. A few years ago maybe, but now as long as your specific distro has support for software like Proton or Wine, you'll be fine.
Although, it's a good idea to make sure your kernel is at the most update-to-date version it can be. Linux Kernel 5.11 just released yesterday, and it has some RISC-V, Zen2/Zen3, and RTX 30 series support. Also make sure your other packages are updated of course.

Manjaro is pretty good for games i think. Some linux distro have a broader support for games than others.

I use Mint - Really user Friendly and doesn't break after an update. - Unless it was intentional.
Mint seems to run any Game I throw at it, regardless of Steam Linux Binaries, it runs Games in Wine without much effort, you can basically get any game working under Wine And Proton. - if you do enough Research on the WineHQ and figure the Bugs out.
It's also true that some games under GNU/Linux "Emulation" Run Smoother than Native Windows.

Depends which games, to be fair. I'm assuming you mean FPS/MOBAs, which tend to have anticheat.

As you may guess, i cant list all the given games that you can and cant get banned in since i dont play every game, and obviously, not every game take action against it, but that is not an argument in itself.
