Moreover, some warehouses find It somewhat difficult to track the movements of every Item that was picked on the same order.
An analogy Is when you do your grocery shopping- If It's one food commodity that you urgently need, you'd remember It. If you had a list of 10-15 or more, you'd probably forget to grab one.
That's a very apt analogy, I'll keep that in mind. In regards to this specific case, I think the missing item method might work as their online orders are no doubt picking up due to black friday. I think it's plausible that a worker overlooks a single item in a sea of orders they'll have to fulfill.

You've formulated a very well planned approach.

I look forward to reading the progress of your SE.

I got the SSD today and, with the box, it weighs 0.4lbs but the item alone is 96g. Is that a problem or should this be a fairly easy claim to make?

Alternatively, could I claim DNA? Sadly, the delivery person took a photo. However it's almost 9 pm here and I could claim I was asleep and the package was gone by the time I woke up. Would that work or is that a stretch?

The entire contents weigh 181 grams, which Is too heavy to claim the lot.

As such, use the missing Item on the SSD- 96 grams.

Judging by what you've written, you didn't sign for the delivery which suits the DNA perfectly.

In terms of the photo, where exactly was It taken?

I actually only ordered the SSD, I assumed I could just claim missing item as opposed to partial items. But apparently the box and the packing weigh more than the actual item itself, is this a failed SE? Taking into the fact that the box and air packs in the box weigh more than the item itself, couldn't I claim that the air packs are the only thing in the package and no SSD?

That's what I was thinking as well, it was left on the front steps, taken with flash. I also live near a park, that sees a lot of foot traffic, day and night, I think this could be an easy claim. Then as they send a replacement, claim the box was empty then and double dip.

Perfect DNA material, It was simply stolen from your doorstep.

The need to realize that a package that's marked as delivered, by no means concludes that you personally received It.

My thought process exactly. I was also thinking of doing a double dip for this SSD, as it seems a bit easy to do one. Does a double dip require a different method upon the second package arrival? If I were to double dip, could I then claim that the item was missing, or does it operate a different way? Are there certain parameters that need to be accounted for that could result in a double dip failing?

The timing of the double-dip couldn't be more convenient.

That Is, a few weeks before Christmas Is the busiest time of year, hence they'll be Inundated with orders & claims and will not have the manpower to thoroughly process each one accordingly.

To not raise suspicion, always change your method when double (or triple) dipping.

For example, If you claimed the DNA In both Instances, It's extremely unlikely that the package did not make Its way to the destination twice In succession. The same obviously applies to every other method- two errors In a row of the exact same nature In close timing, Is not likely to happen.

Got it, do you think a missing item could work for this, considering that the package itself is 0.4lbs? Or, as I mentioned earlier, could I say that the only thing in the package was the air packs and the SSD wasn't in it?

You'd need to claim that the "Item" (SSD) was missing.

The entire contents, box & Item, Is too heavy. That's on the grounds that an Investigation Is opened with the carrier, and the weight Is cross-checked against their manifest.
