They've been successful (each and every time), using the partial/missing Item method on those that weigh over 2 Kg?

I've seen people ordering like 9-10 items and claiming either half or the majority of items were missing.

Understood, but It depends on the weight.

I can order 50 x Thomas Sabo sterling silver bracelets weighing 1.6 grams each that total 80 grams, and the partial method will work. On the other hand, If I claim 2x Giorgio Armani for men cologne 100 ml weighing 95.2 grams each, It will fail- 190.4 grams (combined), Is too heavy.

So (forgive my ignorance) an order totalling, say 2kg but is missing 4 x items at 150g each wouldn't work?

I’m failing to understand how the partial method ever works (particularly for multiple items) if anything with a weight discrepancy over say 150g is detected? Or is there leeway in a % of the total weight that is missing?

No problem whatsoever.

That's a combined weight of 600 grams, which Is too heavy for the partial method.

If the company decides to open an Investigation, whereby they cross-check their (own) dispatch weight against the weight taken at the carrier's depot (just prior to being loaded for delivery) and they both match, then the Items were not missing.

As such, the SE will fail.

Some companies don't bother to Investigate, particularly with low value Items. In other words, If the cost of the Investigation outweighs the cost of the Item, they'll approve the claim.

Whatever the reason may be, others simply don't care and approve It with no questions asked. On the other hand, companies like "Argos", will go to great lengths to decline It- even If It takes months of deliberation.

Do you know by any chances how much does an investigation process cost for the company?

There's a lot of variables Involved.

Without naming specifics, In my line of work, It's predominantly the manpower and administrative costs.

Would FTID work with Zalando?

The so-called FTID method Is flawed, and contains too many Inconsistencies.

Your SE Is basically relying on the carelessness of the carrier & company to succeed.
