My only thought is they would send someone to his house to pick up the item so getting around all of those would be difficult. Right - slight update to my case. Like I stated previously I was promised a refund in a typical few day fashion. When I chatted with the representative to confirm this, they said they were waiting for the item back and opened an investigation. I called in again today to Amazon to ask about "my refund" and attempt to play stupid and gave them the case ID that they provided me for the original case with the refund. The representative told me that I would receive the refund in probably 2 days or so and told me do not worry as it is being processed. I'm confused on what to believe, but obviously having two separate occurrences of individuals telling me that I'd get a refund without sending the item back is at least somewhat promising. Any advice? The last representative (whom you spoke with today) has probably updated your previous case, whereby a refund Is now being processed- dismissing prior requests to send the Item back. Go with your last conversation and await the refund. RE: Battery Leak Method - Fastera - 08-15-2020 (08-15-2020, 12:30 AM)Tenney Wrote: Right - slight update to my case. Any advice? Sounds like you will be refunded. Go with the last provided information. RE: Battery Leak Method - Green314 - 08-15-2020 What would I do if the company tells me "you can remove the battery and send only the computer"? So Do you have to say from the beginning that the liquid leaked from the battery impaired the computer itself? Any advice? Was told now that I have to send it back or have a scheduled pick up to get my refund. No exceptions. Guess I could always attempt to send something else back or somehow do FTID maybe? RE: Battery Leak Method - silencernebunu - 08-16-2020 yes you can doit most likely RE: Battery Leak Method - mothered - 08-16-2020 (08-15-2020, 09:31 PM)Tenney Wrote: Guess I could always attempt to send something elseCorrect. Get a very cheap laptop, burn It beyond recognition and sent that back. Good luck to them to try and Identify the unit. Moreover, catching fire to that point, supports what you've told them as per below. That'd be interesting. I'm going to save that as a second last resort before a chargeback. Would need to order a similar sized laptop and do that. Based on the information I've provided what alternatives do you think I have? I could attempt to keep pushing the issue in hopes the right person just helps me out. A majority state they need it back so at that point I could either get a burnt laptop or somehow do something with the prepaid label that they have sent. Did you get the name of the representative In question, or do you have written confirmation of the (pending) refund? I do not remember the name of one of the reps on the phone, but I have the chat logs saved / screenshotted of one from the chat service who confirmed that I would receive a refund in a few days. As far as the general conversation goes, it seems that while a couple reps have promised a return / refund, they're now claiming that that was with the stipulation of the item being returned. This was not disclosed to me at the time but apparently that is the terms. They'll start the refund once they get the tracking information apparently and I'm sure they'll check the package on arrival. I was thinking though would it be possible to somehow ship it there using their tracking information, but somehow bypass this factor. Obviously burning another laptop beyond recognizance would be smart, but the laptop in question is a massive sized one so I don't know how well it would work. |
