That would depend some on your account with them. If you don't have any returns in the past few months, have not had any emails such as "we have noticed an unusually high number of issues/returns with your orders" (and similar),
have used your account for legitimate purchases then you have a few options.

I would probably default to DNA since it is relatively straight forward. Be prepared for the incoming carrier investigation so plan you delivery accordingly in advance. I am certain that with an iPhone 11 pro they will open an investigation if you DNA simply due to the value of the item.
You can try to box them or even FTID (I would not recommend it).

Keep us posted on your progress!

Thanks I appreciate your advice. I have an aged account and do regular legit orders, I did get that email you refer to once, but it was a while back. No returns in the past few months.
Also, you mention "plan you delivery accordingly in advance", what steps do I need to take to do that?

What's the weight of the Item?

In terms of the method based on generalities, you can opt for the sealed box method or If the carrier Is not accepting signatures, obviously the DNA. The FTID Is garbage, so disregard It altogether.

Package weight would be approx 200-250 grams. The phone itself is 188 grams.

Thanks for that.

188 grams now comes to mind for the phone you're planning to SE. I was thinking of the missing Item method, however It's a little too heavy- should an Investigation be opened. See whether the carrier will request a signature and most Importantly, If photos are taken on delivery. I'd say either or both would be required, but If not, It's perfect for the DNA. You can also box them, by adding a weight substitute to match that of the phone.

Alternatively, the "sealed box method" will have a very good chance of success- but the box must not display any Inconsistencies whatsoever.

Thank you! Just a thought, anything I can try for this current order I have before aborting? It’s due for delivery today.

Would DNA with fake signature work at all?

What order are you referring to with the Intention to abort?

Absolutely.

As far as you're concerned, It wasn't "you" who signed and accepted the package.

What I mean is in case your carrier takes a photo for instance, make sure you rearrange your entry so that it looks different to yours. That way you can claim DNA and the photo will not match to your house.
In case you need a signature then yes a fake one is the perfect way to go about it.

The order from John Lewis which I originally intended to FTID but following advice on here, I decided against it. The order is due for delivery shortly.

Maybe I can try something with this order, which even if it fails leaves me in a position of still being able to return the item for a full refund?

Update: It just arrived, I received the package. No signature taken, but barcode was scanned. Carrier was DHL. What are my options here?

The only suitable method Is the DNA.

In the event It fails (or there's an Indication that It's heading that way), you can simply say that your brother took It without telling you, and you found It In his room sometime later.

Ok, so I should wait until tomorrow and contact store saying item DNA?

If store is not receptive, PayPal dispute chances look slim. Store would show tracking and that would be the end of it I think.
