I see refunders completing Currys PayPal refunds all the time. Are the boxing them to get the refund done? The Item Is too big and heavy to box. How do you mean a MacBook is too big to substitute with dry ice? Does your worry stem from all the dry ice not sublimating by the time it reaches the return warehouse, due to there being too much dry ice? If so, in your opinion, what is the weight limit for using dry ice? From my research dry ice sublimates at a rate of 5-10lbs every 24 hours. Let's take the median, 7.5lbs for 24 hours. A MacBook Pro 2019, 16" shipping weight is roughly that from my research. 24 hours should be plenty if so? Not that It can't be done, but a tear & tape on a package that's the size of a MacBook, will most likely be Instantly noticed by the carrier when picked up and scanned. As such, a damage report will be raised and recorded at their depot prior to delivery. Very valid point. Which do you reckon is the most ideal method for something like a MacBook, except DNA? I haven't had any issue before with tearing off old tape and retaping. I would imagine the same for cutting the tape and retaping with a different tape. Perhaps I've been lucky. I suppose a concern would be that the pictures they take of the package during transit would be given to the company. Be sure to select a "stock" Item, that's significantly cheaper and part of their Inventory. As such, when they scan the return, It will show It's their Item. Also, try and opt for a wrong Item that's within the same or nearby section as the MacBook. For Instance, It's highly unlikely that the storeman will Incorrectly pick & pack a bath mat, that's located on the opposite side of the warehouse to where he's working. In your opinion, do you reckon wrong item method will have higher success rate over the sealed box method? As afaik macbooks come sealed. Just skeptical with wrong item method incase they cross reference with their stock and see that a MacBook was infact dispatched. Also with CCTV when they package your order (however I wrong itemed Curry's circa 6 months ago with no issues, but just incase there have been changes). As afaik macbooks come sealed. In my view, I believe the sealed box method has a better chance of success. Of course, there are a number of factors to consider. For example, whether the box has been sealed as per the manufacturer's state without any signs of tampering whatsoever, Its weight (obviously) matching the original content, and If the company has the manpower to "thoroughly" and physically check every Intricate detail. |
