If you are completely unaware of the method, either do a lot of research or go for a service that will do it for you.
You can just say that you were on vacation/ business trip and have returned from there. Note that FTID is less likely to succeed if the package crosses international borders.

I am aware of how the method works, kinda. I was just confused about the fact that Amazon will be like "yeah send it back from a different country, that seems legit". I will def be using a FTID service, I am just a bit unsure how to execute it. Is it correct that if it all goes well, I won't even have to say anything to a rep? So like if the package is received and gets lost, they will just refund me auto right?

If you use a FTID service, the refund is on you, not on the guy. You will have to manage the situation and yes, speak to a rep because they will need to manually refund you, investigate the package etc.
If you use a refund service the guy does everything but he will not tell you what method he will use.

He will make it find it's way there but then disappear. I will just say that I sent it and show them tracking, and from there I will just SE my way into the refund. That's what I was thinking.

Depends on service. Some services you can specify exactly how you want it. Really depends on the person running the service. But correct, the boxer is not responsible for the SE's success/failure at all.

You should also look into your service provider. Some are definitely better than others/ offer other options/ even help you determine the best way to do it.
But yup, that sounds about right.

It's definitely too heavy for the missing Item method.

What method are you planning to use?
