RE: Paypal with custom built PC - Filament - 06-10-2020 Found something interesting in Paypal's Seller's Protection: """ Ineligible items and transactions Your sale is not eligible for coverage under PayPal’s Seller Protection program if: The buyer claims (either with us or their card issuer) that the item you sent isn’t what was ordered (referred to as a “Significantly Not as Described” claim). """ Edit: Oh this is only for reimbursement from a buyer's claim actually. Well, given that the business would have neither the money or the product, I'd assume they'll bill you or involve legal. I don't support any of this personally, but you do you. Therefore we are extending PayPal Buyer Protection to include eligible custom made items. It's possible the services are no longer able to and haven't updated their shop lists. My order was made before June 8th, so I might be able to say that I only ordered because I saw the page showing they cover custom items. edit: Quote:Please read carefully all of the terms and conditions of this user agreement, terms of these policies and each of the other agreements that apply to you.Maybe not... I did not receive any notice that the policy has updated though. https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/ua/upcoming-policies-full I don't see anything mentioned in the policy updates page either actually. edit: Actually this link says they cover custom-made items https://www.paypal.com/ph/webapps/mpp/paypal-buyer-protection This link (and terms and conditions from every cached version of the terms I can find via wayback machine/ google cache) says they do not https://www.paypal.com/us/webapps/mpp/paypal-safety-and-security RE: Paypal with custom built PC - mothered - 06-10-2020 (06-10-2020, 05:50 AM)Filament Wrote: Actually this link says they cover custom-made itemsThey're certainly contradictory and not specific on what they deem to be a custom made Item. You monster - go to sleep lol I'm debating whether I should modify order page/ the invoice to seem more like a prebuilt. Original order page (well, modified order # and time juuuuuust in case) ![]() Order page without the link to view the order ![]() Order page without link and added subtotal and tax ![]() Too lazy to go at it now, but the invoice looks like: Quote:*BASE_PRICE: [+2055]Maybe just removing the base price and all the [+/-X] RE: Paypal with custom built PC - Filament - 06-10-2020 (06-10-2020, 10:10 AM)mothered Wrote:(06-10-2020, 05:50 AM)Filament Wrote: Actually this link says they cover custom-made itemsThey're certainly contradictory and not specific on what they deem to be a custom made Item. No longer contradictory in a sad way ![]() edit: Looks like it's a rolling update. Got a screenshot with today's date. The only way to fully establish whether they do/do not support custom-made Items, Is to sift through every Intricate detail In their terms. I tried calling them but to no avail. I tried going on a few refunding shops and asking about it in the group chats/ to the main refunder, but nobody is answering my question. I don't think a lot of them actually know the terms very well to be honest. Just a suspicion. I'll keep doing what research I can, but if I can't find anything conclusive, I'll just give it a try and we'll see how it goes. |
