If you're planning to refund the 5 AirPods In the same consignment, obviously use the DNA method.
Personally, I'd opt for one AirPod by using the missing Item method. They're extremely light (44 grams for the charging case and 4 grams for each earbud), hence the method Is well-suited.

Aight, will do that. Out of curiousity, I also researched into the wrong item return method. Do you think this would work as an alternative aswell?
As with the DNA, the wrong Item received Is a universal method, meaning It's suited to the majority of companies.
If you opt for this, be sure to purchase a very cheap Item from Amazon (on a "different account"), that weighs around the same as the Item you're SEing. They will request the return hence If they scan It, It will show that It's part of their Inventory. As such, they'll believe that the wrong Item was picked, packed and dispatched.

Every company that operates on a scanning system, have dedicated barcodes specific to their Inventory.

If you're going with 5 airpods, DNA would probably be safest. Empty Box/partial will be difficult with 5 of them.
You can probably get away with 2 with partial/empty box. I wouldn't risk more than 2, and 2 is already a bit risky.

You also have the wrong item received as Mothered mention, you just need to make sure all the 5 items come in one package and you weight correctly and buy also from amazon another item with same weight as those 5 airpods.
But like Filament said is Risky.

I highly recommend purchasing a single product worth 5 airpods ... or in any case the least possible number of items
