The reason I think it would be useful is because a layer of film is much more difficult to successfully breach and gain access to the contents without causing visible damage, compared to the original seal - which, in this case, consists of two clear stickers over a tab on each side of the box (easy to get through). The idea is that, upon seeing the perfectly untouched layer of shrink wrap on top of the already sealed box, the rep will cease any doubts about the legitimacy of the return claim. This hinges on the assumption that there is no way for the rep to reference the packaging to what it was originally. Additionally, this should dispel any doubts about the condition of the original seals, in the event that they be minorly damaged in the resealing process.

As a separate question - have you had much experience with refunding high value items - say in the range of 1.5-2k USD, from amazon? If yes, did you use the sealed box method - how'd it go? Do you know of the existence of any potential extra countermeasures in place for such higher value items?

Thanks <3

I understand your point, but given the original box Is perfectly sealed without Imperfections, It defeats the purpose to wrap It In clear film.

In terms of the sealed box method, I have a very high success rate, regardless of value.

Understood. Stock packaging it is then.

I understand if you're not comfortable with disclosing figures - however the only reason i'm asking is to know whether to proceed with this, or whether I'm dreaming too big - just wanna see if someone has pulled off what I'm trying to, with the same method and price range..  :D

Don't get me wrong, what you've suggested Is certainly viable to draw attention away from the original seal(s), but If there's no Inconsistencies to begin with, then there's no reason to open and check Its contents.

It all comes down to resealing the box to perfection without any signs of tampering whatsoever. They're less likely to open a box (when there's no reason to) and void the manufacturer's warranty on a high value Item, as opposed to one that's worth a couple of hundred dollars or so.

The timing also plays an Integral role In the method's success. If you hit them during the busy time of year (Black Friday, Christmas etc), due to the Influx of orders and claims, they won't have the manpower to thoroughly check returns.
