RE: JBL Boombox SE (rma) - C8Stingray - 04-15-2020 I would think that a leaking battery is a better excuse than not wanting to go out due to the coronavirus. At this point you could backpedal and mention a leaking battery or move forward and try boxing them. I'll keep you posted on how the rest of my SE goes. Prior to SEing any company, "always" read their terms, namely their refund/replacement policy. As such, you know exactly what you're up against and can formulate your method based on your findings, Inclusive of opting for a suitable Item. In this case, you've performed a "blind SE"- without knowing what to expect, which has significantly complicated the process. JBL's terms state that they do require the Item be returned (and Inspect It) before a refund can be Issued. In terms of their reply, be adamant that you've disposed the Item, apologize for any Inconvenience caused and wait for their response. Personally, I would've selected an Item that's small and light enough to box. As a result, there'd be no Issue with the RMA. I didn't even think about doing that lmao, but now I know for next time to check the terms lol. Thank you! And yeah I'll stick to my story disposing of it.

Every SE Is a step-by-step process, based on requests & replies generated back and forth. We'll await their response and take It from there. RE: JBL Boombox SE (rma) - Vanfuzzy - 04-16-2020 In all honesty, a lot of these technology companies don't check their returns and or send the replacement as soon as they receive the item in their warehouse. For instance, Sennheiser didn't check their returns until about 4months ago. It's worth attempting to box said company with random items and make it clear on the packaging that the item had been 'tampered' with, although the chances of this working are pretty slim. It was worth a try though, and I know what to expect now. I would try doing that but money is tight right now and I wouldn't be able to afford to pay for shipping out a package. It's a good idea though, I migh try it in the future. Thanks! As such, the SE will fail. Sorry if I phrased this incorrectly in my original response, English isn't my native language. You'd make the box look 'tampered' with by cutting a hole in the box and securing it with a different tape. However, the objective here isn't to alert the company of a tampered return but to check if they do check their returns. The 'tampered' box would be something to fall back onto if they do check the contents of the box, for instance, Bose will still ship a return if they are supplied with a valid ID, even if it contains random items because it has been 'tampered' with. I can name several exceptionally large companies that didn't check their returns until very recently if you'd like to know more about the matter.

That makes better sense. Thanks for elaborating. |
