Lmao Apple petty as hell if this is seriously a thing. Can't even imagine.

Even so, they cannot block the AirPod per se.
Possibly it would be a long process to do so, the device would have to communicate the serial (which could easily be gotten via iOS) and contact a database.

For the block to take effect, there must be a dedicated gateway of communication with the AirPods- which Is not possible.

An analogy Is trying to DDoS a remote server without an Internet connection. This too, Is Impossible.

What I mean is Apple can get the serial from any device connected to it, via it's OS once a device is connected like over Bluetooth it could use a command to retrieve a serial number (like retrieving hardware ID info) and compare it to other serials. It doesn't have to have a dedicated gateway it just has to be on the OS end

I understand your point and I must say, you've outlined It very well.

However, It Is reliant on the "device" to retrieve the serial number of the AirPods. What If I connected them to an Android device that's not part of Apple? Or the device Itself Is offline?

I don't think it'd reliant on the device, a OS can easily talk to hardware without it having anything built in. But I kinda know what you mean, this is the only time I wish I had a Apple product to test them on

That's what I mean by a device- everything that makes It a functional entity, It's OS and hardware Inclusive.

Anyway, we'll wait and see what happens from this point forward. I highly doubt that your AirPods will be blocked.
