RE: John Lewis refund help. - Hueloip - 10-13-2019

little tip - try to divert the blame as high up as possible - if you say the airpods werent in the box but it was still sealed, it looks like it was apples fault not john lewis, if you say it was stolen, youre shifting blame onto the delivery service which they are much more likely to investigate.

But good luck, keep us updated stick to your story and it should still work

Shift the blame as high as possible, as the guy above me said. Makes them more likely to be sympathetic.

Tip: After its been a couple of days after there last email ring up asking about it and make sure you show your emotions , make them sympathetic and say you were really looking forward to them. Stress about it on the phone the rep might make notes and it may be resolved quicker.

Alright guys. Thank you so much. I’ve told them that The Apple box was sealed when it was inside the box and when I opened it, the AirPods weren’t inside. Thank you so much everyone! I’ll let you know how it goes

Just failed the SE and they told me to take it to my card to get it disputed. Guess I’m gonna have to take back my money the hard way.

You didn't fail - the advice you was given was on the basis of a 'general' company and was bad advice for John Lewis and made you fail.

It is very hard to get John Lewis to refund you. The best method to use is the 'wrong item received' and get a rep that doesn't really understand what he's on about. They'll replace your item for you but will not refund you. If you choose a refund, they will fully investigate. With a replacement, they will not. Not every rep will give a replacement, so you'll have to try a a few times.

I've replaced 2 x iPad Pros and a Galaxy Tab S4. I've then sold both items (original + replacement) on eBay for £££ profit.

Simple fact - JL haven't been refunding for a few months at this point. They tell you to go to the bank and chargeback, knowing full well they'll provide tracking details and you'll lose the CB.

Hope your future attempts are more succesful! Smile

So they just give you a free replacement?? So you essentially get 2x of the item you ordered
Btw I just CBd with my bank and apparently JL didn't respond to the dispute so I'm getting my money back in 24 hours as it takes a while for it to reflect in my bank. I probably got lucky

Keep calling them and talk to a supervisor. I just had a similar situation as you and told me to dispute it with my bank. Called them up and kept telling them i needed a supervisor and they finally gave in and just gave me a refund as a courtesy.

Bruh I had to refund it via bank. Ended up winning and they gave me back my $$. Onto bigger things with PayPal!
