RE: New Jersey "Right To Die" Law - Drako - 09-11-2019 It seems wrong, but it should be up to whoever is suffering. You don't know how they feel, it should be their decision. They could be a burden on their family, or a burden financially. RE: New Jersey "Right To Die" Law - krunkk - 09-11-2019 Euthanasia is legal in other countries too... i don't see it as a surprise RE: New Jersey "Right To Die" Law - Nork0i - 09-30-2019 I'm for it, control is the only thing left when you're about to lose everything right? That was deep! RE: New Jersey "Right To Die" Law - funkfella - 10-04-2019 You don't know the pain a sick person is suffering and if they decide to put an end to it, we should respect their decision you know RE: New Jersey "Right To Die" Law - geyu29 - 10-17-2019 (07-31-2019, 06:44 AM)Oni Wrote: New Jersey is enacting a law allowing those that are terminally ill, the option to expedite their passing. What a disgrace, thats your democracy right there. And obviously politicians werent showing face but they support it, its one less problem and less use of resources, its all economics. The state has responsibility to protect the lives of its people, every last strain of method should be implemented to save their lives, this also benefits the doctors to gain experience and create case studies which can help to diagnose and assess future cases. By making suicide legal, you're giving them an 'option', as if they are not already depressed enough. despicable. I assume they'd be (medical) protocols In place, prior to allowing those who're terminally ill to make their decision. RE: New Jersey "Right To Die" Law - rappa - 10-19-2019 make sense if the person is in a lot of pain, they shouldn't need to suffer RE: New Jersey "Right To Die" Law - Korvidius - 10-19-2019 If somebody's terminally ill and in a lot of pain, it would make complete sense that they would want to take the final step towards death and have eternal relief once and for all, because they wouldn't be able to find relief otherwise. Perhaps, but that still works around 'risk assessment' it would be measuring how much can/would be done, and a criteria set before they proceed with giving them this option. A person who's unable to move physically or speak, a family member may ask on their behalf, but this new jersey law does state "that a specialist will assess the patients mental capability, they may be referred to a mental health professional" - and these people are not trained for dealing with these issues, how much can you gather from experience and see if the patient really wants to die or can be saved? or give them motivation to live and enjoy however much they have left? the person assessing these patients would they come in a moral conflict with themselves? thats why its receiving so much criticism. Its like a movie isnt it? a wife kills her husband and runs off with the money... This is not a common practice in the rest of the world, this is a recent phenomenon, very few countries have implemented this, with its own policy and provisions. Its just not necessary, because somebody is in pain, that means they should die? wheres the humanity? the person who's viewing this pain as a spectator, certainly their human nature would oblige them to do everything possible to make that person healthy again, and thats just talking on the physical restrictions of a person, the 'mental' is a whole different scenario, lets not forget americans have a huge drug/pills epidemic and reported cases, next thing they will suggest is allowing prisoners the 'right to die', whichever narrative is more popular with the people, but again you only need enough people and little to no civil disobedience, and if it doesnt damage a politicians reputation. This new generation has become so materialistic and capitalist, so ambitious, that they forget that an assset is also a human being, when you are told that there are no weapons of mass destruction, yet you keep the troops there anyway because the oil companies are investing billions into the economy. Theres so much to say but first thing that comes to mind is how unnecessary it is, new jersey state calls it "dying with dignity", did they come up with this name while watching a crime thriller! https://patch.com/new-jersey/pointpleasant/nj-right-die-law-takes-effect-now-16-things-you-need-know |
