Be very careful. Bribes and stalking can be VERY illegal... If you can be subtle enough to pull this off, I'd be impressed. Few people have that subtlety. It may simpler and more time efficient to research the company and make sure you're applying to somewhere you're suited to.
you're right but i think OP wants an edge and being suited for a job isn't enough these days when there is nepotism and other factors. the hiring process is one of the most BS systems in the world

I understand that, but there's more than one way a person could use social engineering in the hiring process. I just think the specific ways you've mentioned, are more risky than necessary.
I know for a fact, if I offered gift cards to a single one of the people I have been interviewed by, I would have been shown the door. You have to think about how you come across, and what impact your actions and body language have.
Also, if someone offered to buy me a starbucks, I'd run for the hills, wondering what their motive was. That's a great way to raise major red flags.
However, the concept of finding out their interests is sound. For example, if you see your interviewer has posted about a recent football game on their social media, you could bring it up "casually" in conversation. Subtlety is your friend.
