Yeah, it does not exactly prevent cracking because there are more smarter people in this world but definitely, it helps us to buy more time from being cracked and this is the motto (Only if packer is unique & complex )

As far as obfuscation goes, probably if anything 5 more minutes time to crack, not considering anything else but the impact of obfuscation.
