Unfortunately not, i was told that a refund wouldn't happen because i said i discarded of the broken contents.

Take the positive out of the negative.

You now know what "not to do" the next time around.

Hi, that could be very useful. What expensive aftershave/perfume smashed bottles do you have? Thanks in advance.

That's very true. The longer i think, the better the ideas will come together in my head, it was an experience, but like you say, i know what not to do in future. Many thanks for your help Mothered.

You're welcome.

It all comes down to experience. The more you fail, the more you learn, hence can apply yourself a lot better with future SE's.

Do you have a photo of black glass?

RE: Smashed aftsershave, company requesting photos - popeye74uk - 01-09-2019

have you checked there web site terms and condition when it comes to refund or damaged products, if there nothing on there about it then send them the link saying you find this to be unfair there is no mention of the requirement to take pictures or keep broken glass, all you want is the product you have purchased,
I also find that a powerful trick is to ask them

Do you think im being unfair?

Non aggressive an polite question tend to put people in a receptive mind frame as even though they may not answer it will spark there own internal emotions for how they will feel if this happened to the, its very important to be polite, no aggressive or condescending for this trick to work

Good idea. I sometimes act a little angry or upset, because putting myself in that situation, that's how i would feel.
