It's taken on a case-by-case basis and If that's what they've said, then that's what they've arranged as per their Instructions with the postal service.
I've had countless postal pickups of 200+ boxes of hand loading Into the van- and yes, the postman assisted on each and every occasion. Their duties extend a lot further than simply throwing letters Into the mailbox.
