I actually met my girlfriend via Tinder, we had our 8th year anniversary this week.
Meeting people irl works great too, but using online dating, you can actually meet people you would've never met normally. It opens up a larger pond to fish is.

Once I decided to try a dating site, but quickly realized that it wasn't for me. I went on 3 dates with different girls and everything was limited to the first date. Mainly because they provided incorrect information about themselves and a fake photo in their profiles. Although I understand that it helps someone, and some even found their soul mate there.
