Anything that keeps my mind off of the crippling status of our existence; and I like to write code; I wrote a few papers (mostly philosophy and server administration); and I like to game.

It certainly does. It helps me fight anxiety and work through my feelings. But I don't like to do it in a sitting position, because I sit all day anyway. So I recommend trying it lying down with some kind of guide like Headspace on Netflix.

I'm exercising heavily each day, so I may Incorporate meditation Into my regime.
