What the hell Apple? - Synthx - 03-27-2017 So, I got locked out of my apple account which is okay, because I got back in.., and while I was trying to unlock the account, it first gave me the option to send an email, or answer security questions. Well, my email is the icloud account, so.. I dont know how the hell I would even send an email there.. ![]() That literally would make no sense amirite? RE: What the hell Apple? - pvnk - 03-27-2017 Think u could use an email that wasn't ur icloud acc... RE: What the hell Apple? - zenith - 03-27-2017 That face when you make your I cloud account your recovery email. Should've taken better precautions. Don't yell at Apple for your own ignorance. What I meant was, the icloud was created from an apple device, which made it a account that uses @icloud.com like in the pic.. Honestly, it doesnt bother me, as it has happened before, but I wasnt yelling at apple, I was just stating the stupidity of that bottom line. Yes because everyone in the world understands how pointless and stupid it is. It's going to be there automatically. Weather it's cock.li or your icloud. Idk if you made this as a joke or not. RE: What the hell Apple? - Jiggly - 03-28-2017 I've had similar issues with other companies etc. My worst issues are with google accounts. Christ almighty, I've made something like 5-6 new accounts in years gone by. I only ever made accounts so I can log onto shit like play store/youtube/to share docs on google drive with classmates etc. Then I forget the log in details after little use... Then I am completely unable to recover it. It may have changed since I last had these issues, but the recovery service asked me to list contacts I'd emailed from the account (there were none), use a phone number (which no longer existed) or list an old password (there was only ever one password which had been forgotten). Hence the making of new accounts each time this happened. RE: What the hell Apple? - mothered - 03-28-2017 (03-27-2017, 01:33 PM)Synthx Wrote: That literally would make no sense amirite? Correct. Both your Apple & ICloud account use the same Apple ID, so given you were locked out of your Apple account, how are you supposed to access the ICloud account? You'd think Apple would simply use logic and disallow ICloud as a recovery option. You're very welcome. I understood It the moment I read It, and was (and still am) In disbelief as to why Apple have configured one of the account recovery options as such. It's like saying I've forgotten the login password to my PC and to recover It, I need to access the recovery key stored on the PC's HDD. It defeats the purpose of the recovery process. |
