I'm a great fan of Lua and think that it's a very powerful language when applied to something specific.

For example, the world of Warcraft API is Lua; it's incredibly powerful when used for things like creating your "rotation bot."

I've recently been exploring such things and find that it's quite simple to create something that will outperform other people and bots, such as honor buddy or soapbox rotations.

I'm always one to give knowledge and would love to help anyone that would possibly be interested in learning how to create such scripts Biggrin

I did a little bit when we had a Garry's Mod server. Nothing crazy, just modification of addons/weapons.

I've played around with LUA because of garry's mod, and it was a pain.

Haven't really used it much but I heard it's super lightweight.

Garry's mod is my only experience with lua, my buddies and i loved that extreme football throw down game mode, we just modified the game mode a bit

It's pretty much the bare bones of a programming language, and is really I guess more scripting, but it's still quite powerful when applied with various knowledges from previous languages.

Lua is super lightweight, open-typed, and embeddable, which are all huge pros for me. Other than tables being a little finicky and annoying on occasion (Perl's still worse), Lua is extremely easy and fun to play with. Bonus points for being the language of choice for the ComputerCraft Minecraft mod, GMod, and CheatEngine.

All I know about is NMAP script written in Lua Sad

It would be interesting if someone could post some LUA tutorials here. I am interested in it as well, but didn't really have the time or resources to learn it.

I heard it was a pretty interesting language, which is pretty good for scripting games in. I don't know about coding programs in it though. Didn't know NMAP was coded in LUA either. I thought it was only Python and C++
