I've just read the entire article of the first link, and your thread's title says It all.
These guys were extremely overly-confident that they'll never get caught- all for ridiculous reasons.

I'm glad mainly because they showed such disrespect and arrogance - the only thing that was surprising is that they weren't under eighteen.

Hah! These articles are funny. In a way, I'm happy they were caught. Ddossing blizzards servers and shit is lame, and they give the public a perception of hacker culture that is not necessarily correct.
Hacker culture is about learning, exploring, and finding creative ways to use tools in a way they aren't necessarily supposed to be used.
Skids like this is why we can't have nice things :'(

Highly doubt it, these are skids, they wouldn't know the second thing about launching a Ddos attack the complexity and size of the one against DynDNS. Although some of the bots involved in the attack were flagged as using Mirai, not all of them were, and even at that I doubt these skids would be capable of using and applying something like Mirai in an attack like the DynDNS attack.
From what i've heard, the DynDNS attacks are made in such a way as to expose companies full 'defence-potential', maybe to create more focused attacks later on? I guess we will find out in the future, but lizardskids were def not the people behind it imo.

Agree.
You'll be amazed at the age of hackers nowadays. Kids obviously grow up at some point, hence what was once a bunch of teens a couple of decades ago, Is now a collection of adults "still" pursuing their hacking activities.
