RE: Older Anime? - BurritoBeans - 06-07-2016 I don't know how "old" anime goes, but here's a few I guess. -Ghost in the Shell - 1995 (Saw it on a Laserdisc, got a DVD and LD copy) -Akira - 1988 (Have and saw it on Laserdisc) -Cowboy Bebop - 1998 (Saw it at a friends on DVD) -Berserk - 1997 (Saw it at a friends on DVD) And that's it for what I know. Did you see the Bebop movie or the series? RE: Older Anime? - BurritoBeans - 06-07-2016 Oni Wrote:Seen Akira and Berserk is on my watchlist. Did you see the Bebop movie or the series? Bebop was the TV series, I saw all 26 episodes of it I think - that was a while back. http://myanimelist.net/anime/1/Cowboy_Bebop that stuff. If you didn't see the movie, you should see it as well. One more to add, I was playing with an SG-1000 and I remembered that this exists Golgo 13 - 1983 (Lol VHS tapes) Not the best in the world - it's the one series that I've read the manga for and that was a lot better. Pretty good games made off of it though, NES and SG-1000 at least. RE: Older Anime? - Jiggly - 06-07-2016 What classifies as old? I loved Cowboy Bebop but usually am not a fan of older anime. The stories are usually pretty good, but the art style/animation seems to bother me often. Can't quite place my finger on why. In live action films I don't tend to care too much about the CGI effects etc but with anime I am really interested in the visual. RE: Older Anime? - Blacksmith - 06-07-2016 Can we count movies? I only just started really watching anime this past year or so, but Castle in the Sky (1986) has always been one of my favourite films since I was a child. Fantastic movie that really fostered my imagination. I enjoy older Studio Ghibli films in general, to be honest. The animation doesn't feel overly dated - rather, I feel like it just has this older charm to it that you don't see much these days. I recently saw Only Yesterday (1991) in a quiet theatrical showing, and it was really something special. |
