They have been hacked. I have had people log into my steam and paypal accounts today. Change your passwords and uninstall it.

I have not used teamviewer in months and still had it installed. fuck

The scarier thing is that TeamViewer is hard as hell to completely remove from your system. It installs a tunnel adapter and creates firewall rules for connections by default, which (I believe) you're required to remove separately.

Well that fucking sucks. It was my go to support software. Looks like I'll just rig some shit with VNC because I don't feel like buying a subscription to anything else.

This Is a perfect example of why Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) should be enabled on supported accounts- PayPal Is one of them.

Although It's somewhat easy to circumvent It via SE'ing, having a second form of authentication (example, generating a verification code to the cell phone number associated with the account) for any login attempts, certainly beats the use of a single-password login.

It's not good to read that your accounts were compromised. I do hope you can sort It out with too much Interruption. I don't have TV (never have), so I'm lucky In that respect.
Thanks for this, I appreciate all security breaches that come to hand.

Geez... That's ridiculous. Very sorry to hear about your accounts. Sounds like pretty hardcore damage.

Always been pretty skeptical of programs like this for a reason (I'm not sure if I even trust password managers like Roboform), but this is the first I've heard of one of them getting compromised this badly. I wonder if TeamViewer will go under from this.

Good luck changing your accounts, thanks for the PSA.

I have been suspicious of Teamviewer lately. If this is legitimate it only justifies my suspicions.

Nothing was lost. 2FA on my steam. I can't use 2FA on my paypal as it was my business one and I do not have a second phone but it doesn't matter nothing was lost there either.

I am lucky I noticed early that it was teamviewer.

Firstly, In terms of Items of value, It's good to read that nothing was compromised.

With PayPal, I assume you have 2FA on a personal account, hence can't use the same cell phone on your business account correct? If so, given It's the same payment system, I would've thought the same cell phone could be shared.
